Sketchin', hopin' somethin' keeps the ball a' rollin'...

Alright, the first was inspired, I think, by Clemence Poesy in "In Bruges" (love that one!) and James Jean's sensibilities.

Second, we have some headz. The first is from some IT ad on the web. The second comes from Dorothea Lange, and the third is just a random thought.

Last, but not least, we have a crusdaer (or is it knight from a Monty Python movie?).

Here's a couple of old sketches to keep thing fresh...

This one pretty much explains itself. A sleezy kinda' guy playing the piano in a smoky bar type.

A knight.

Some new sketches

Here's a page from my sketchbook. I worked very sparingly on these images over the period of about four days. Once you've been outta' the habit of drawing you really do lose the familiarity with it. At least, I did. So these heads were just a way for me to get back into the feeling of female faces and sensibilities. I hope to get them colored for practice.

Image from the past...

The top image is an image that I did for school back at SCAD. The lower image is part of the original image from the wine "Screaming Jack". SCAD took part in a contest hosted by the makers of Screaming Jack wine. They wanted to redo their label and they opened up the challenge to college students at various colleges in the US. Unfortunately, I did not win the contest, but from what I recall one of my classmates did. I don't know if the makers adopted her design for their label or just awarded her for winning. The grand prize was something like a thousand dollars. Anyway, here's something to look at.

My text was just a placeholder text.
