At. Long. Last. :)

So, earlier this year, I finished up some work on a trading card for The Spoils.  I was pretty stoked when I was asked to do a card for these guys since I have friends from home who had actually played the game.

The name of the card I was asked to do is "Merbegon, The Insatiable Taxidermist".  He kills his enemies and then turns them into mounted trophies.  I thought it'd be cool to also suggest that some of his enemies' pieces become part of him... kinda' metal, I thought.

You can find out more about The Spoils, here.  The card I illustrated will be part of the Seed 3 release.

And it case it's not obvious...  Arcane Tinmen (owners of The Spoils IP) hold the rights for reproduction of this image :)

I've been there and it's a super-slick place.  The folks who work there are pretty cool, as well.

MADness...

Here's an image I created for the MAD magazine show at Urban Light Studios in Greenwood, next Friday (9.9.11). Here's some details on the show (Facebook page).

A little about the image: So, I've never read a single issue of MAD magazine... I was struggling with what to do for the show while sitting around in the library and I happened to notice an original copy of "The MAD Reader" resting on the shelf. I thumbed through it and found a comic-strip entitled "The Face upon the Floor". The illustrations by Basil Wolverton were fucking creepy. They drew me in and I had my inspiration.

My image is sort of a book cover idea for the "The Face upon the Floor"... I know that Basil's interpretation of the story is "black comedy"... but, hopefully, I've captured/re-imagined some of the creepy-ness of Basil's illustrations and presentation.

Along with my illustration, there will be several other artist's displaying work at Urban Light Studios... drop by and check out everyone's work!

Spin the Bottle poster...

Here's a small piece I did for the Annex Theatre Company in Seattle, Washington. Every first Friday of the month, they put on a variety show called "Spin the Bottle". It starts at 11pm with an admission price of 10 buckaroos. And, it's on the corner of 11th and Pike... on Capitol Hill, silly.

Part Trois...

So, here's the third pen/ink experiment... With this one, I focused on making things dark and creating forms without using outlines.

Also, you can check out my and my friend Shaula's work at Bedlam Coffee in the Belltown neighborhood in Seattle, this Thursday. This Thursday is the Belltown Artwalk and lots of local studios and businesses will be hosting new artwork in their spaces for the public to come in and see: Belltown Artwalk

Shindig starts at around 7.00pm... good coffee, people, and art :)

Bots Vs Beasts piece...

So, here's the piece I did for the Bots vs Beast show at Urban Light Studios curated by Nick Beery (recap of show). Lots of cool works done for the show as well as some live jamz by Supercommuter at the event.

The actual printed version of my piece has some copper acrylic applied to it... on those white emblems below the characters and around the borders of the image.

Still for sale... only one print, framed in a sick-ass frame. Will get a pic of it once I get the piece back.

And here's something silly I sketched out for another piece for another show the same night in the same collection of studios.

Been playing around with the app. Very fluid, will play more. Here's a sketch.
